Waze releases Version 2.0 for Android

Android users – the time has finally come: today we released the much-anticipated version 2.0 for you guys. You’ll now be able to take advantage of the more than 5,000 cool driving groups your iPhone compadres have already set up – and even create some of your own, if so inclined. We’ve worked very hard to get this version ready for you and we hope you enjoy it, so make sure to update in the Android Market as soon as you can.

In addition to being able to participate in driving groups, you’ll also notice some very considerable performance and stability improvements, including enhancements such as multi-touch support, zoom and rotations.

As always, we want to know what you think about the new version. If you have any comments, suggestions, or bug reports – please feel free to drop us a line: alpha@waze.com

  11. The update has made things so much better! It's finally a usable app! One problem I have noticed however: if I keep Waze running while doing something else, and return to Waze, all of the roads disappear until I exit the app and relaunch it. Other than that, great work! This program is getting better and better!
