Lots going on to make waze the best it can be in 2011

We've got a lot shakin' over here at waze and wanted to give you a bit of a sneak peak as to what we're working on, since it's nothing short of a complete overhaul. We've heard all of your comments over the last year loud and clear and we're working hard to incorporate your feedback and great ideas to make waze the best it can be for 2011 - and beyond. Over the next few months you can expect a release with a fully redesigned graphic interface and flow, making waze easier to use (and prettier) than ever before. We've also heard the voice of all you map editors, and a cartouche upgrade is very much in the works, to boot. While we don't have anything to announce for the immediate future, we just wanted to get you a little excited about what's to come. Make sure to keep tuned to the blog for updates, as we have them. At the present, it's all still in the oven cooking, but we can humbly tell you, this stuff smells delicious...

  2. A way to remove alerts from the map-view.
Click on the alert-icon, and I get a "box" with some info. There should be a "report irrelevant" link there.

  8. Reports should include the time they were first entered, so you can tell if something is still likely to be relevant. As a bonus, maybe you could have an option to "confirm" something or mark it as irrelevant. For example, there is a traffic sign on Rt95 south in Waltham, MA, and signs in MA all have K-band radar guns on them. Every morning someone reports it as a "speed trap", and it would be great to be able to mark it as irrelevant, or even explain to the person who reported it that it's not actually a speed trap.
With that said, it would be great if you could visually differentiate "confirmed" reports so that users could know to "trust" them more. If someone reports a speed trap, and when I get there I also see the speed trap, then that should carry more weight for the next guy than an unconfirmed report. I think Trapster did something like this, making confirmed reports red instead of yellow or something, and also downgrading reports from red to yellow to green over time, as they were less likely to be relevant the older the report.
