Introducing Waze 3.7 - Facebook Event Integration & More!

3.7_blog

Just in time for summer, we've cooked up an awesome new version that's going to help Wazers get to events with ease and in style. Welcome to Waze version 3.7! Not only is this version one of the most social that we've done to date, but it also contains              multiple feature requests, bug fixes and lots of optimization. So without further ado, here are some fantastic features you can look for in the all new Waze version 3.7.

Facebook Event Integration

When Facebook connected, Facebook events will automatically appear in Wazers' navigation lists shortly before the event is slated to begin. When ready to go, Wazers simply need to tap on the event and they will be routed there without any need to know the address before hand.

See friends driving to the same event

When headed to an event or destination, Wazers will also see their friends headed to the same place. Friends will appear on a vertical transparent bar on the right side of map in the order in which they are expected to arrive at the event. Tapping on the bar will give a more detailed view of each friend’s ETA to the event.

Tons of other features you'll love

We've packed this version with lots of other features, improvements and design changes that we think will make Waze even better. Here are some of the highlights:

  • Real time and offline "beep beeps" at friends.

  • Exclusive moods for map editors - T. Rex, robot and 8-bit.

  • Redesigned, sleeker pop-up alerts.

  • Inbox has moved to the main menu.

  • New 3-state mute button in the main menu (mute, alerts only & on).

  • Foursquare check in available from report menu.

  • Lock up north added to settings.

  • Support for JVC App Link Mode” for compatible in-dash car audio receivers.

  • Multiple fixes and optimization and more!

  1. Hurray for the Foursquare being easy to find again!

But I won't install it because I keep Facebook integration on (my wife and I coordinate our destinations sometimes) but don't want any events showing up ever.

  2. Love to use my Waze. My daughter introduced it to me and I love it. Its very accurate and that is a plus. Keep up the good work.

  3. I am very excited about all of the upgrades! I am hoping that one of the upgrades is the "learning my route" feature working. That is the #1 most critical issue I am having with the app. It is a great idea and would be WONDERFUL if it started to work. I have suggested before, if the learning feature cannot be made to work, please implement a feature that allows me to save specific routes so that I can get accurate traffic updates. Right now I just wait for the app to "catch-up" with the route I am taking and give me traffic info but often I am already in a bad place by the time Waze lets me know there is a traffic issue ahead.

  4. Want to know why I quit using Waze?

    1. The annoying fact that you say "Get ready to turn right (left)" but not tell me what the street is.
I have an old Garmin that does.

    2. The old out of date Garmin tells me "Continue on for x miles, then turn right on streetname" - Waze does not.

    3. The Taco Bell popups are annoying. I'd rather pay .99 for the app and not have to be bothered by ads. The old Garmin does not do this either.

    4. Posted speed limits are shown on the old Garmin, I do not see them on Waze.

  5. My first thought is that the "See friends driving to the same event" feature effectively turns your GPS into a real-world racing game.

  6. I have a suggestion for a button to easily "star" a location. Let's say I am traveling to a location and on the way I spot a really great price on gas but I don't need any now. I would like to fill up on my return trip. Being able to quickly and easily "star" those GPS coordinate can greatly facilitate this.

  7. The new app does not open on my Galaxy Note (Android).

    That sucks...

    ReplyDelete
  8. Like Facebook event locations would be even better to read my local calendars and pull any locations with an address into this list. Copy/Paste from calendar location is the most common way I start a waze trip that is not home or work.

  9. Just downloaded the latest version...however, the Avoid Toll Ways Option...is...gone.

    Help.

  10. Thank you, thank you, thank you my beloved Waze, you are back with me again. I have been without you for more than 10 days which made my mood very bad. You crashed in my HTC OneX and uninstallment plus reinstallment many times did not help. But here you are again with a fantastic update, WOW, great cos a lot of new features. I hurried out for testing and everything works even better than before.

    Thank you again Waze ;-)

    Please help.

  14. Good release!, working again on HTC One X!

    Thanks Waze!

  15. How do you turn off the friend count tab on the main display? It's going to burn into my screen like the navigation blocks already have, and I don't want to see it.

  16. The new version doesn't appear to work. I've just upgraded and it refuses to even start if there is no internet connection. Since I use Waze when I am on the road there is rarely, if ever, an internet connection available. How do I get back to the previous version?

  17. I just downloaded the Android version of this and it's flaky...

It crashes ... my saved locations have disappeared and when I attempt to navigate somewhere, it'll either hang or crash...

I think you need to do some more testing.... now what do I do to get a more stable version on my galaxy exhilerate?

  18. Although I like Waze... two complaints. 1. I had to reinstall anger it took me back this square one on mileage. But just still had my "join" date right.
    2. The new update stays running even though I have switched out off. This drains my battery very quickly. I have had to uninstall the program or charge my phone every 3 hours.

  19. I tried to update, but it failed. I have an android 2.2.2 device. During the update process I received the following message "the package was not signed correctly". What is happening?

  20. The world don´t need Facebook. Why do you support? There are many other Ideas that are more important to release....

  21. I don't know if it's just me or if perhaps everyone else encountering issues with your website. It seems like some of the text in your content are running off the screen. Can somebody else please comment and let me know if this is happening to them as well? This might be a issue with my browser because I've had this happen before. Kudos

  22. Waze 3.7.0.0 keeps crashing on my iPhone 4S - takes 10-15 attempts to start a session and then it crashes several times per hour trip. I even upgraded IOS to 6.1.3 to see if that might help. Suggestions please? I *NEED* my Waze!! Thanks, Howard

  23. It is very unfortunate that waze only uses facebook! I do not have an account on facebook. And I also do not want to!

So I can not add friends. That's a pity.

Why not waze gives us the ability to add friends with email address? I'm not the only one who wants this feature! With this function waze would be even more user friendly!

  24. The latest release is very unstable on my iPhone 4. Previous releases were rock solid. This one crashes or goes "Uh Oh" a little too often. Wish I could do a roll back.

  25. After I originally commented I seem to have clicked the -Notify me when new comments are added- checkbox and now each time a comment
is added I get four emails with the exact same comment.
Perhaps there is a way you can remove me from that service?
    Appreciate it!

  28. First off I want to say superb blog! I had a quick question that I'd like to ask if you do not mind. I was interested to know how you center yourself and clear your thoughts before writing. I've had a tough
time clearing my thoughts in getting my thoughts out there.
I do enjoy writing but it just seems like the
first 10 to 15 minutes are usually wasted just trying
to figure out how to begin. Any suggestions or hints? Appreciate it!

  29. Loved it for the first day...just downloaded on 6/16...loved it all day 6/16 then on way to work 6/17 has a continuous crashing problem...my iphone 5 is brand new (bought it 6/13) and its up to date software wise. Bummer because if it didnt crash it would be awesome...until an update is released i guess i wont be using it...and i couldnt find a "contact creator" type link on the app location in App Store so i left a review...not a positive one either sorry to say...

  36. I believe what you published was actually very logical.
However, think about this, what if you added a little content?

I mean, I don't want to tell you how to run your website, however what if you added a post title to maybe grab folk's attention?
I mean Introducing Waze 3.7 - Facebook Event
Integration & More! | Waze Blog is a little boring. You might peek at Yahoo's front page and note how they create post headlines to grab viewers to open the links. You might try adding a video or a picture or two to get people excited about what you've written.
Just my opinion, it would make your website
    a little livelier.
