New Version of Waze Released!

Hey Wazers! A quick note to let you know that we've released a new version today for iPhone and Android.
One of the big highlights of this version is the addition of auto complete. Whether you are searching for contacts, businesses, a new address or a favorite place, Waze will detect and suggest it after typing only the first few letters. Auto complete will work for categories too! Just start typing in the category you want and auto complete will suggest the desired category and find the results you want. We know this is exciting news for devoted Wazers but please keep in mind that the feature will first be gradually rolled out (it may take a few weeks) for Wazers located in the US and afterwards for Wazers located in other countries.
Another highlight of this version is a beautifully re-designed and simplified main menu to help Wazers find what they really need.
The main menu now features the four core Waze functions: Navigate (users can now find gas from here), My Waze, Inbox and Send ETA. Remember Wazers, with Send ETA, you can either send your drive or tap the "Send a Location" tab to send your current location or destination via SMS or email.
It's also easier to see your friends. You can do so simply by clicking on the icon directly from the map.
If you are looking for a list of reports, you can now find "All Reports" in the report menu.
Finally, this latest version makes it easier than ever to add a stop to an existing route. While on your route, simply tell Waze where you'd like to go. Waze will ask whether you want to add the new destination as a stop point or as a new drive.
We hope you enjoy this latest version. Let us know what you think in comments below.

    1. il me semble que les donnees ne sont pas dispo. les cartes que nous editons en tant que wazer contributeur n'ont pas ces infos. C'est donc plus un probleme de donnee que d'affichage.

  7. STILL THE SAME ISSUES.. the new terms of service popped up ... NOT ONCE.. BUT TWICE and I had no way to dismiss. Then the voice automatically changed to RIDE ALONG... AND STILL.. WHEN there is a POPUP, it either dims the map is a highlight, and then goes back to the correct location with the dimmed map still there or is stuck at the popup location and never reverts to current location. I am SICK OF THEM.. stop releasing new features until you FIX the issues that have been reported for several versions!!!

  8. Have you added the capability to turn off Voice Guidance for Home/Work but leave on Alert audio? I know my routes but want to hear the alerts.....

    1. That seems like an interesting feature but only if it's the regular commute route and not if you're going home from some other place. Perhaps, Waze could automatically detect that you've started navigation to "Home" from your "Work" and vice versa.

    2. They have, on the left menu to the right of the settings button is the sound button. Click that and choose "Alerts only".

  9. Looks great! Wish you can make your "moods" more seasonal. ( snowflakes, Easter eggs, flowers, Beach Balls, etc.....) Also can you make waze a little bit more girly too! A pink map and car would be awesome!
    Thank You
    Jennifer

  10. Argh... the power button still doesn't shut-down the app. Please bring this back! Now it takes three steps to exit the app and save battery: Open menu, hit power, then hit the home button.

  11. Np update if you have the latest beta?

  12. It looks nice with a easier menu, although I will miss the Gas Prices in the main menu I think. The auto complete is very nice! Hopefully The Netherlands will follow the US soon! ;-)

Thanks Waze for the great app! I use it every day! Keep up the good work!

  15. When is coming an update for the BlackBerry 10?

    ReplyDelete
  16. thanks for this update. please also look into rebalancing the touch targets in the post address entry dialog. the GO button, aka the most important button is way too small on teh screen and too closely placed to stuff like the 'friends on waze now' button and the other info around trip time.

And speaking of the trip time that takes up the center of the GO screen, why aren't alternative routes featured right there? why do we have to re-search to see the other two routes?

  17. Nice, but......
The text on the icons needs to be darker and bigger. When I'm in WAZE, my phone is about 3 feet from my face and is usually vibrating a bit from the motion of the car.
ALSO, how about an option to automatically shut down WAZE when I get to my destination.

  27. Any chance for this update on the Windows Phone version?

  28. On Android I can't search a favorite, I was never able to do and after updating still can't, not sure if this is tied to new autocomplete (not working in my country by now).

BTW, now I can't rename a favorite anymore! It was a little hidden, but now it is gone.

  29. Make the same available for Windows Phone too... pl

  30. Till today... Can't edit Favorites... How stupid is that?

  34. Before the update, the menu had a button for Reports in radius of current route, so you could see all accidents ahead of you on your route, making planning detours easier. I cannot seem to figure out how to see reports as a list anymore. Zooming in on map to see accidents is dangerous while driving. Can someone please help.

  36. The voice navigation is missing the first word or two. Annoying when you are in a situation with many road choices. Otherwise looking good. The "Pick Up Someone "feature looks cool.

  39. My waze updated and the ability to add a stopand clear a stop disaappeared. I see you can navigate and cchoose it as a stop but thus is much more difficult than the ability to choose category and then add a stop. And where is clear a stop now? Clearly not obvious to me and therefore an upgrade that makes things harder! Can I downgrade?

  40. How about 'I am here' feature? I'd like to record my current location without knowing the address

  41. I love waze but I'm not happy with the new "add a stop" changes. I thought the older way was easier, faster and more effective. We could add multiple stops and search by categories to add a stop...the new way takes more time and is not user friendly. Thanks

  42. I have found the auto complete buggy causing me problems by taking too long. When I type in the location name completely Waze won't find it. Also the routes are messed up. I can no longer view my routes on a map due to some bug that zooms in and won't let me truly zoom out.

  43. Waze use to work great on my Android Note II. Voice navigation isn't working like it use to. It only speaks partial words and sounded like it said a bad word today. (1/26/14) Made us all laugh, but really, I'm frustrated with an application I use to love. I've uninstalled it and reinstalled it twice (gonna try a third time).
