Two New Languages, One Global Waze Community

Yes, that's right, Waze has recently launched two new Voice Direction languages: Dutch and Flemish. This marks one very important Waze first—a Flemish voice, which marks all four of Belgium's national languages now available as Waze Voices in the app, and welcomes a new and improved Dutch voice.

Getting these voice live and in the app was thanks in big part to over a year of dedication from the local Waze Communities of Belgium and The Netherlands. Since the beginning of the project, these communities have been working with Waze's Localization team, helping translate and record both new voices in an effort to make Waze more easily accessible to their neighbors, and Dutch and Flemish speakers across the world.

To get your directions in Flemish from Thomas, go to Settings > Voice Directions > Nederlands (BE) - Thomas. And to get social with your fellow Wazers, join the Belgian Facebook community.

So, ready to get Wazeing in Dutch? Update your app in Settings > Voice Directions > Nederlands (NL) - Bram. And, if you'd like to learn more about the Dutch Waze Community, check out their Facebook Page.
